Happy New Year Everyone! We hope everyone had a great and happy start to 2014 as well as a great Christmas!
We apologise for the lack of posts throughout December but it got to a point where it became impossible to get any new content out due to my Christmas work hours were having me start at 4am plus a huge increase in the amount of custom orders we had to get done and shipped to be guaranteed for Christmas......
In other words we were very very busy and by the time Christmas day came around Myself and my mum thought we deserved a bit of a rest!
We are back now in the new year with a literal tonne of new projects and ideas to fuel your creativity!
Now over Christmas I found myself watching loads of old Disney and Pixar Films....one of them Being Monsters Inc, I remember years and years ago I sat there watching it for the first time with my mum and loving every minute of it!
Now years later I'm sure there are many young ones out there who will love this fun and easy little project which takes maybe an hour? 2 hours at most!
A Monsters Inc inspired.....
Mike Wazowski Hat!
For this project you will need:
2 Balls of DK Green wool (Or roll 1 ball in to 2 little balls!)
A small amounts of cream, white, black and blue wool
You will be crocheting with both strands of the green in one go, this gives the hat a nice look to it with fewer gaps, which makes it ideal for younger children
Terminology (We use US terms!)
ch - Chain
sl st - Slip Stitch
hdc - Half Double Crochet
How to Make it:
Begin with a magic loop
Rnd 1: 12 hdc in the magic loop, tighten loop, join by slip stitching into the top of the first hdc, ch 2(12)
Rnd 2: 2 hdc into each hdc around, join with a sl st, ch 2 (24)

Sew to the centre of the hat
Use black wool and a tapestry needle to sew the shape of the mouth on
To Make The Horns (make 2 using the cream wool)
We were having lots of trouble when we were trying to make his little horns, however to make things easier on you, we have linked this very helpful video for you:
Sew horns to the head
And there you have it!
One very adorable looking Monsters Inc inspired hat!
If you want to make the hat bigger, just add more increasing rows!
